A new version of IDLdoc (IDLdoc 3.2) will be coming out soon. Make sure you are on the mailing list if you want to participate in the beta and be notified of the release.
New features for this release will include:
- ability to generate printed documentation i.e. LaTeX to PDF
- generate documentation for DLMs
And, of course, some bug fixes.

Nice general idea with the IDL -> LaTeX documentation. It’s inspired me to “auto-doc” simulations that I run from within IDL for improved discussion of the results with my colleagues.
One handy tool in this context is David Fanning’s PS_START codes which uses ImageMagick to greatly improve the fonts in postscript figures.
