ITT VIS posted a screencast on their YouTube channel giving a brief introduction to the IDL Workbench, appropriate for someone new to the Workbench. I think a few of these, covering some of the major features of the Workbench like debugging and templates, would be valuable for those considering moving from the command line to the Workbench.
