What is the feeback from the user group meeting? Any news on what’s coming in IDL 8.1?

Feedback that I heard in the question/answer period focused on the new/function graphics.
My notes for upcoming releases showed 8.1 with fleshing out new graphics features, KML export, higher resolution maps, and some Workbench features like including version control plugins and a user-defineable toolbar. It was scheduled for the first half of 2011.
IDL 9.0 was scheduled for the first half of 2012. Its main feature was a new GUI toolkit based on web standards.
IDL 9.1 is scheduled for 2013.
IDL 10.0 would allow the widget applications to be published to the web/cloud/mobile.

8.1 sounds neat, 9.0 sounds great – the major drawback of 9.0 is the 18-months waiting time :)
