I will be at VisWeek 2009 in Atlantic City next week:

IEEE VisWeek 2009 is the premier forum for visualization advances in science and engineering for academia, government, and industry. This event brings together researchers and practitioners with a shared interest in techniques, tools, and technology. Visualization has become an integral part in a wide array of application areas, and papers are solicited both for original visualization research and for the application of visualization towards the understanding of domain-specific data.

I’m hoping to post some updates about the conference next week.

About me

I'm a software developer focusing on high-performance computing and visualization in scientific programming. I work mostly in IDL, but occasionally use C, CUDA, and Python.

I currently work for the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) at the Mauna Loa Solar Observatory. Previously, I worked for Tech-X Corporation, where I was the main developer for GPULib, a library of IDL bindings for GPU accelerated computation routines.

I am the creator and main developer for the open source projects IDLdoc, mgunit, and rIDL.
