IDL to include IMSL library

Boulder, Colorado – August 17, 2006 ITT Visual Information Solutions, a wholly owned subsidiary of ITT Corporation (NYSE: ITT), today announced it has reached an agreement with Visual Numerics, Inc. to integrate the IMSL C Numerical Library into its data visualization and analysis product, IDL. The selection of the IMSL Library will allow ITT to provide the industry-leading collection of mathematical and statistical functions to IDL users in a wide variety of scientific and engineering disciplines.

IDL Analyst is the add-on product that will use the IMSL library.

The IMSL routines found in IDL Analyst are included in IDL 6.4.
